FreshWater Watch: Earthwatch’s flagship global citizen-science project for water-quality monitoring. The FreshWater Watch project was created so that groups all across the globe can easily monitor and protect the health of the rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, wetlands and reservoirs.
GLOBE programme: The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) programme is an international science and education program that provides students and the public in Africa with the opportunity to participate in data collection and the scientific process, and contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the Earth system and global environment.
MICS: MICS is the state-of-the-art platform for measuring the impact of citizen science in Africa. It allows to (1) assess the impact of a citizen-science project, through metrics and indicators across different domains, (2) evaluate the impact of a project from conception to realisation and beyond, seeing how impact changes over time, and (3) produce an impact summary to share with communities, stakeholders, funders and policy makers.
Scaling-up citizen-science air-quality monitoring: A core strategy of the CSGP is to lead initiatives to scale up citizen science for a number of key global challenges. The work will particularly aim to support less developed and less well-resourced regions. Air-quality monitoring is the first of these initiatives, with an approach that seeks to collaborate with all existing air quality monitoring projects and practitioners to gain insights, share resources, and build a community of practice.
